It is also an important tool in attracting foreign travellers and increasing the competitiveness of the destination.
Digital marketing is one of the most important tools in modern tourism promotion. As the digital landscape continues to expand, it has become essential for tourism destinations to utilize websites, social media platforms, and travel websites such as TripAdvisor and Booking.com to attract potential visitors. These platforms require high-quality, engaging content in English to effectively reach and engage a global audience. Quality content in English not only facilitates communication with international tourists, but also helps to create a professional image and credibility for the destination. In Gorontalo, while the region holds immense potential, many of its tourist destinations have not yet fully capitalized on the advantages of digital media, limiting their ability to tap into the broader international market.
However, the use of English in Gorontalo's tourism promotion faces a number of challenges. A key issue is the lack of a workforce with sufficient English language proficiency.
